A black-and-white studio is perfect for finding the inspiration and concentration you need to study or work. |
Within the world of decoration, black seemed to be a taboo color for many people because it is characterized for being strong and dominant. It can be a bad move in the decoration if you do not know the true rules of the game. But as many things in the world, it is a matter of balance and, like in yin and yang, the best combination for black is its opposition: white.
The black and white binomial has become strong in the world of interior design, thanks to the simplicity and elegance it brings in some cases, and the sophistication it brings in others. Because of the wide variety of furniture, wallpaper, wall paintings, and accessories the use of black and white can be applied to different styles and in any space. If you are interested in changing some space in your home like the studio, this choice of colors will be a leading role for this room.
The yin and yang of decoration
To fully get your black and white decorations you must know very well how to distribute the colors to create maximum contrast and achieve more or less balanced colors. Why more or less? Because white must dominate before black. If it is the opposite, it would only cause a more closed and dark atmosphere.
-Walls and white ceilings: this option would be perfect if you combine the walls with pictures and ornaments in black tones entirely or using both colors. As for floors, we recommend dark carpets and ceramic floors, dark woods or micro-cement.
-Geometric wall: a good alternative is to use horizontal stripes; for example, on one of the walls of the studio or you can try patterned wallpaper or geometric patterns in these two colors.
-Combine, the test of fire: you can combine black furniture with other white. Or pick of one of these colors with accessories (textiles, decorative details, electronic equipment, and so on) in its opposite tone. Maybe you can use some pieces that are already bicolor. In the interior design, there are a variety of options for chairs, armchairs, carpets, desks, and bookshelves of different styles and manufacturing materials that take into consideration these two options.
-Try other elements: dare to use details and pieces in warm tones such as red, yellow or orange allowing the space to create discrepancy and highlight the black and white tonalities of the studio. Break with the two-color.
-Adequate lighting: the key to illuminating this kind of room is to consider the origin of natural and artificial light. Try to place the black pieces in the most illuminated areas and the white items in the darker spots of the room. Everything is a matter of contrast. For example: with a lamp next to a white wall, the bell should be black.
If you want to highlight the studio, decorate with black and white. It is the contrast you expected for that studio design.
